Working principle
Ultrasonic flowmeter is a device that calculates fluid flow velocity by measuring the time it takes for ultrasonic waves to pass through a fluid and generate ultrasonic pulses. Usually expressed in meters per second (m/s); The propagation speed may also vary depending on the fluid.
The workflow is as follows
(1) The ultrasonic transmitter emits pulse waves, which propagate in the fluid;
(2) Ultrasonic receiver, which receives ultrasonic signals reflected back from the fluid. And convert these signals into electrical signals and transmit them to the signal processing module.
(3) Measuring propagation time, measuring the time difference from transmission to reception, usually in microseconds or nanoseconds.
(4) Calculate flow velocity, flow velocity=distance/time difference. Distance is the known length of the fluid pipeline.
(5) Calculate flow rate, flow rate=velocity * pipe cross-sectional area.
